Brief on Srinivas University Emerging Technologies Center of Excellence

Recognising the growing trend of Industry 4.0, Srinivas University has set up an Emerging Technologies Centre of Excellence to train students in Industry 4.0 as part of their degree programs to make them relevant employees for the industry.

The core focus is to provide appropriate emerging technology learning opportunities that upskill students at different stages of their academics.

Right from the first semester, students undergo a mandatory semester-long training integrated with their curriculum. Students are specially trained by Industry experts to match industry expectations and assess them with corporate Global certifications to maintain a competitive edge.

To this end, the Srinivas University Emerging Technologies Centre of Excellence has been established across the Srinivas Group campus’. To further drive the collaborative initiatives, the University in collaboration with EduSkills Group has inaugurated the Centre of Excellence between Red Hat Academy, AWS Academy, Juniper, Palo Alto, Blue Prism University, Celonis and Microchip Academic Programme on its campus.

In addition to core subject knowledge, practical technical training is of immense importance. This collaboration provides Srinivas University students with access to AICTE-approved internships and corporate placement assistance. This will give Srinivas University students a unique competitive advantage.

Srinivas University collaborates with a number of industries and companies across various sectors to provide experiential learning. The students and faculty of the university have access to updated content, lab equipment, and exercises and can work on live projects in the companies. Industry experts will help students and faculty improve their knowledge and skills. Students can earn corporate and global certifications in their fields from reputed companies to prove their skills to employers and qualify for advanced positions and increase their earning potential. More than 7,000 students from various disciplines have access to the CoE facility of Srinivas University and its group institutions.


EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME

This course enables students to develop their ability to reason by introducing them to elements of formal reasoning. This course is included for the students of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh semesters. Two tests are conducted every week and a final assessment is also done by considering average marks in all the tests to check the student’s ability and to improve in the relevant field. The primary focus will be on recognizing the logical structure of arguments. Topics will include types of statements, symbolism, logical connectives, logical relations, basic deductive inferences, truth tables, validity, invalidity, and soundness. This helps in enhancing problem-solving skills, improving basic mathematical skills, and helping students who are preparing for any type of competitive examinations. Two tests are conducted every week.

After studying this course, students will be able to understand the basic concepts of Quantitative Ability, understand the basic concepts of Logical Reasoning Skills, Acquire satisfactory competency in the use of Verbal Reasoning, solve campus placements aptitude papers covering Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and verbal ability and compete in various competitive exams such as CAT, CMAT, GATE, GRE, GATE, UPSC, GPSC etc.


GLOBAL CERTIFICATION (INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION COURSE ON CURRENT TRENDS)

A common Certification Course on current trends will be offered to all the students of the batch of all the engineering streams. To stay in the industry, it is important for students to keep themselves updated with the latest developments in technology.

This course will be conducted in blended mode. At the end of the course, the student has to produce/submit the certificate issued by the certification agency after completing the assessment for the programme.

The main objectives of this programme are to expose students to the latest developments in the field, learn new skills, make them industry ready, boost their confidence and provide them with additional knowledge. At the end of the course, there is a 2-hour 50-mark examination, graded according to the marks obtained.


Softskills

Soft skills are a combination of personality, behavioral and social attitudes, career attributes, personality btraits, mindset, and emotional and social intelligence. Soft skills are the skills that enable you to be good at your job. Technical skills that help you excel at doing your job are not enough to be successful in your career or workplace. Soft skills are the skills that determine your overall performance and how well you fit into your job. Engineers have to deal with challenging situations almost every day. Adaptability and strong interpersonal skills are essential soft skills that engineering students need to develop in order to cope with the strenuous/high-pressure work environment.

The various skills taught in this programme include problem-solving, pressure management, teamwork, creativity, communication, management, presentation skills, leadership skills, research skills, quality assurance, design skills, software skills, project management, etc. This training is conducted every semester for the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh-semester students and comprises 6 sessions, each lasting 3 days.
