Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University along with its sister Institutions, Institute of Management and Commerce, Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism and Institute of Education organised a 5 day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from 6th January to 10th January 2025 at Srinivas University city campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru.The FDP titled Empowering Educators: Research Methodology for Academic Excellence aimed at enhancing the research skills of faculty members to foster academic excellence in their teaching and research practices. The program was designed to equip educators with modern tools, techniques, and methodologies to conduct high-quality research and engage with the latest trends in research methodology. The programme started off with a short inaugural ceremony by lighting the lamp in the presence of Deans of all the organising Institutes. The various sessions conducted over the 5 days focused on theory, hands-on practice, and discussions. The topics covered were carefully selected to address the core aspects of research methodology and academic excellence. The speakers for this 5 day FDP were Dr. Venkatesh S Amin, Dean Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, Ms. Riha Parvin, Assistant professor, Yenepoya Research Centre for Finance and Entrepreneurship development, Dr. M Premkumar, Associate Professor, Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University, Mr. Leo Victor Zalki and Dr. Riyaz Basheer, Vice-Principal, Tejaswini Physiotherapy College, Mangalore. By the end of the FDP, faculty members gained a deeper understanding of research methodologies and were equipped with practical skills for designing, conducting, and publishing research. The Faculty Development Program on Empowering Educators: Research Methodology for Academic Excellence proved to be a successful initiative in strengthening the research capabilities of faculty members. The program effectively combined theoretical knowledge with practical application, making it an invaluable resource for faculty members looking to improve their research skills. Moving forward, such programs will continue to play a vital role in enhancing the overall academic performance of the institution.
