Education has the power of transforming an individual for the betterment of himself and the society at large. Srinivas Institute of Education was established under A. Shama Rao Foundation from 20th December 2004 in its campus located at Pandeshwar, Mangalore. The College has been approved by NCTE recognized by the Government of Karnataka and was affiliated to Mangalore university for about 13 years. It had record of scoring more than 15 ranks with first rank twice and 100% results throughout under Mangalore University.
Now, the college is under Srinivas University as Institute of Education since 2018, has the aim of developing dynamic teachers who can take up the responsibility of moulding the students and their life to become responsible citizens. The college imparts innovative and qualitative professional education to the aspiring teachers through modern, sophisticated techniques of teaching yet without losing the flavour of traditional teaching methodology.

The Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level, secondary level and senior secondary level.
