Under the Cyber security initiative, an awareness session on the topic- Cyber security awareness- Peek into the new age threats was organised by Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University in collaboration with the Zonal Learning Centre of Union Bank of India, Mangalore for the 1st and 2nd year B.P.T students on 21st February, 2025 at city campus Pandeshwar. Session 1 was led by Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma (Chief Manager Faculty) and Mr. Srinath BN (Senior Manager, Faculty), while Session 2 was led by Mr. Vishnu Jayadevan (Chief Manager Faculty) and Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta (Chief Manager, Faculty). The speakers provided insightful information on emerging cyber threats, online safety measures, and best practices for safeguarding personal and professional data. Special emphasis was given to modern cyber threats such as voice phishing (vishing) scams, deepfake technology, and social engineering tactics, highlighting how fraudsters manipulate AI-generated voices and videos to deceive individuals. The session aimed to equip students with essential knowledge to recognize cyber risks, identify fraudulent activities, and protect themselves in an increasingly digital world. The interactive session encouraged student participation, fostering awareness of the critical importance of cybersecurity in everyday life.
