M.A (Education)

PREAMBLE:

The Masters in Education programme is unique professional course prepare oneself to study the structure of contemporary education system from Primary to Higher secondary level & its functions from teaching to administration with the traditional touch as well as technological applications.

COURSE CONTENTS:

The M.A (Education) programme is duration of two academic years extended up to four semesters which can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of admission. The medium of Instruction and the Examination of the course shall be both in Kannada and English.

WORKING DAYS:

  • There shall be 90 working days for each semester inclusive of period of admission and examination.
  • The institution shall work 36 hours per week through physical presence or through online if the circumstances come across like pandemic or any other calamities
  • The minimum attendance of the student shall have to be 80% for all the course work and practicum, 90% for the internship.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

  • Any UG degree holder of the affiliating university any other university recognized by UGC or degree from foreign which as equivalence with Indian universities are eligible with at least 50% marks in Bachelor`s degree of any discipline are eligible for admission of the programme.
  • Admissions are done on the basis of the merit scored in the Entrance Examination held by the university.

ASSESSMENT OF SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS

Final Semester Examination will be conducted after the completion of 90 working days. The Internal and External marks of the Examination are assessed and grading is done according to the Srinivas University Norms as follows.

Performance of the students is evaluated continuously and also by means of Semester End Examination, Practice teaching, Project work, viva-voce and other method of testing as approved by the university.

PWRITTEN EXAMINATION QUESTION PAPER PATTERN

Each theory course question paper will be designed for 2 hours for 50 marks. The questions and allotment of marks are as described below:

Criteria of External Assessment: Final Semester Exams (50 marks)

The question paper contains Part – A, Part – B & Part – C (All are compulsory)

Part – A involves 10 Multiple Choice Questions to be answered. ------------------------- 1 X 10 = 10 marks

Part – B involves 4 Questions to be answered out of 5 choices given. ---------------------4 X 5 = 20 marks

Part – C involves 2 Questions to be answered out of 3 choices given. ---------------- 2 X 20= 20

To pass in each subject a student should score minimum 25 marks out of 50 in semester examination

Criteria of Internal Assessment: (50 marks)

A. Two internal examination of 15 marks each - ---------------------------------------------15 X 2 = 30

B. One Assignment -------------------------------------------------------------------------------10 X 1 = 10

C. Seminar -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10 X 1 = 10

• To pass in each subject a student should score 25 out of 50 marks in the internal assessment

. PASSING CRITERIA FOR SEMESTER END EXAMINATION

  • Each candidate who appears for the Internal, External and Practical Examination shall be declared to have passed only if he or she secures not less than 50% in aggregate in each course.
  • The candidate who has not fulfilled internal assessment completely in each semester will not be eligible to the write the final semester examination.
  • A candidate who fails in one or more courses in the Written Examination shall be permitted to appear again within one week of the commencement of the results by appearing for the makeup Examination conducted by the University.
  • Criteria for booking malpractices, grace marks to the awarded and challenge valuation are followed according to the regulations of Srinivas University manual for conducting Examination.

The course fees mentioned for subsequent years may vary annually up to 6%.
